Nordic Island Kitchen Living began in 2019 when three interior writers from Helsinki discovered a shared passion: the transformative power of well-organized kitchen islands.
Having grown up surrounded by Scandinavian design principles, we witnessed how thoughtful organization could change not just spaces, but the daily rhythms of life itself. The kitchen island — that central hub of modern homes — became our focus.
We spent years studying Nordic kitchens, interviewing families, and refining our approach. What emerged was a system that honors both beauty and function, creating spaces that feel calm, move smoothly, and maintain themselves naturally.
Today, we've helped transform over 450 kitchen islands across 15 countries, always guided by the same Nordic principles: simplicity, functionality, and serene beauty.
